Assimilation 03:25
ASSIMILATION Welcome to Amerikkka a land contaminated by the brainwashed masses a land based on white skinned privilege. Cultural genocide, killing ourselves slowly, not knowing who we are inside. Ashamed to speak our native tongue, stripping ourselves of our birth given name. And now the reflection in the mirror no longer looks the same, slowly we change, conform, assimilate. Our culture, history that was once so beautiful, is now replaced with self-hatred. To abandon your culture and absorb an existing culture is assimilation; it is form of cultural genocide it is process that produces an identity that is shallow, materialistic, unrooted and weak where the practicing of traditions and heritage are lost lost and hidden away deep in your soul Where one becomes eager to re-identify identity with an existing dominant culture a culture that is based on the bill and red, white, and blue where one becomes reluctant and embarrassed to speak their ancestral language is assimilation to be ashamed of the way you look; to alter your features is assimilation So welcome to Amerikkka a land filled with shallow, materialistic, unrooted and weak that have abandoned all that their ancestors have struggle for, died for and have been massacred for a melting pot of a product brainwashed and shrink-wrapped bar-coded and ready for the new millenium Changing your name to an Amerkkinan name is assimilation to deny who you are and where you come from is assimilation to be ashamed of the way you look, and to alter your feature is assimilation!

The deciding factor of a woman's plight/ left up to men with no sight to a woman's mind or a woman's soul/ He controls, she is controlled/ They control our bodies, decide our fate/ Control our minds driven by hate/ Their hate for women and the rights we demand/ They want to control, they want to command/ Control our bodies decide our fate/ Control our minds driven by hate/Their hate for women and the rights we demand/ They want to control, they want to command/ It's not often thought of and its usually dismissed/ So its up to us to show it exists/ We've pushed it all under tucked it deep inside/ But the damage it does isn't easy to hide/ Women deal with it everyday/ the pain it cause won't go away/ It grows stronger with every breath/ The end result is emotional death/ We learn to live with it, we choose to pretend/ Hoping in our ignorance the pain will end/ If we deny the anger, deny the pain/ The hatred we feel will drive us insane/ Then one day we come to see, we aren't who we pretend to be/ we won't be passive or deny our pain/ Won't take abuse for another's gain/ Then one day we come to see, we aren't who we pretend to be/ we won't be passive or deny the pain/ Won't take abuse for another's gain/ Control our bodies decide our fate/ Control our minds driven by hate/Their hate for women and the rights we demand/ They want to control, they want to command/ Songs are sung and that's a start/ But it doesn't change what's in our hearts/ Words are said and the lyrics rhyme/ but the pain we feel doesn't lessen in time/ Women deal with it everyday/ the pain it cause won't go away/ It grows stronger with every breath/ The end result is emotional death/ Men make laws and women abide/ We feel so helpless we run and hide/ It's not only our rights being stolen away/ But a bit of each of us is lost everyday/ Then one day we come to see, we aren't who we pretend to be/ we won't be passive or deny the pain/ Won't take abuse for another's gain

Gaze into my aged, teary eyes What is it that you see? A life filled with regrets... A life based on enslavement... Afraid...AFRAID To wake up, open my eyes, and speak. ...SCREAM... I'm screaming but no one hears...or cares, Cares about the old..aged minds of yesterday. That once were so brilliant... My thought now only bring tears to my eyes, constrictions to my throat, and fading memories to my conscious mind. Hopes and dreams were discarded long ago, Years of physical and mental suffering are forgotten, Thrown away, disposed, and recycled, for the next generation. I have no triumphant stories to capture your attention, to make you listen... I only have scars to show all of the hard work that I have endured, endured for survival, survival of the fittest they say... Well, in this world survival is based on money, greed, jealousy, Money Greed Jealousy Power...Money Greed Jealousy Power and CONTROL Control by manipulation, my mind, body, and soul have been denied life, sacrificed for survival Slave away an entire life, in order to survive, and now in the end I am no longer useful in today's standards, so the chain still remain, and the sad fact is that they always will, Until something evolves out of the stagnance of your mind and you see me for who i am a human being, that is old but wise, that has a heart, and cries that aches and yearns and throughout all of this I have learned to be thankful for each breath that i take for come one day I may never wake because dying and death can come at any time and this thought festers in my mind. So i must hear that I am loved much Because we will grow old some day and all of your sacrifice will be forgotten too and all of your hopes and dreams will be shattered and all of your memories will be yellow pictures, in a photo album and come that day you will remember what you did, or what you didn't do and you will live with the regret So in the meantime we must rely on how we live in our hearts, and hope that all that is sacrificed, will be remembered. in your eyes will I always remain another sad story, thrown into the wind another aged wrinkle face, that doesn't exist in your eyes another weak, fragile body, that only moves slow another senile mind, that only tells the same old stories? For I am only a warm body waiting to turn cold Sadness Sorrow Despair Pain

(Every Last Life please help the voiceless Animals) Humans hunt, kill, torture, main, eat, dissect and destroy animals. Yet, the animals have done nothing to deserve their living hell. Humans cannot be content in destroying animals. They must go and destroy other human through war. Yes, they still aren't pleased with the harm they cause. And the death they bring to other humans and animals. They still have not learn their lesson. They must kill and destroy till there is nothing left, till no life remains. They destroy our earth not knowing that all the evil they do now will destroy her beauty for eternity. (Theirs something we could all do about it!) It seems some humans cannot be content with their own life. They must snatch from others their lives. It makes no sense at all. Why would they choose death, pain and suffering. When life, respect and love are on the other side. They must kill and destroy till there is nothing left till no life remains. They won’t be satisfied till every last life is taken from this earth. (Stop the torture, Stop the Death, Free the Animals and Support the A.L.F.)

(This is a song about Richard Moore now known as Dhoruba Bin Wahad. He was in prison for 19 years for a crime he didn't commit. He was framed by Counter Intelligence Program. It's important that we support political prisoners. Because if we don't one day you might be a political prisoner and their will be no movement to support you) Locked inside the dungeon Souls separated by concrete cages Desperate for human contact Desperate for what once was Now forced to serve hard time Compliments of the dirty hands That robbed him due to his beliefs His faith in mankind and the human spirit Framed by CoIntelPro This is the cost of faith Physical and mental abuse Their batons against his skull Their ignorant words against his heart Their eye always upon him Waiting for the chance To attack him once again Prison politics -- definition of racism And as the headline reads In persuading attempts That this man is your enemy And so the threats began to fly From the very souls as well Enslaved within this hell: The prison complex Like a dog without a home The guard besides the door glares upon his family In disgust and self righteously assumed superiority How can he from within this dirty place Bring his eye to look Into the eyes on the other side of the plexi-glass It feels like manhood stolen away Where did it go? When did it go? Framed by CoIntelpro He spoke. "Prison, the ultimate form Of human torture." So desperate for his spiritual connection Outside his prison walls He continues, "Human Beings Need each other to grow" Alone, drowning inside the insane thoughts That begins to fill the head of a being Who is enslaved within the concrete walls, steel bars "There were times I woke up crying In the silence of the night." Nothing but time To search the roots of how Human nature could have concluded To come to this place Framed by CoIntelPro Where in forgetting the privilege Of their own free hands Locked chains around their fellow man His young life, his dignity Thoughtlessly tossed away "His crime?" the children ask He fed the hungry Drove away the drug dealers Fought against hypocrisy, police brutality Framed by CoIntelPro 19 years -- injustice served But his struggle became all the stronger Could we ever understand the pain he suffered? Beaten, tortured, abused But his struggle grew His spirit soaring-above The evil systems strikes to tear him down Framed by their false charges Hastily dreamt up in fear of his power "Free at last" we cry out loud For finally he walks the street again Choosing to continue where his work Last left off many years ago Dhoruba Bin Wahad He is the spirit of the people (The original Black Panther Party have been a big influence for Resist and Exist because of their community work. In the late 60's Panthers had been targeted by the FBI and had their lives destroyed, were killed, jailed or exiled. However, Dhoruba and his group went underground and continued their political work with the Black Liberation Army. They took direct action to take drugs off the streets, and even sometimes punished the drug dealers. Please check out a film called: "Passin’ It On" directed by Jon Valadez)

Progress was a word thrown around by the rich Who cared nothing for life except the potential to profit Too blinded by their greed to see the error in their ways Leaving a wasteland barren, scorched, and paved To make money from building weapons For the wars they wage First killing with their missiles and later with their waste Buried in the soil or dumped in the sea Later seeped out poisoning you and me! Progress was a word thrown around by the rich Who cares nothing for life except the potential to profit Too blinded by their greed to see the error in their ways Leaving a wasteland barren, scorched, and paved To make money from logging old growth for it's lumber What happened next? Did you ever wonder? Fallow land, erosion, mudslides in their wake Or maybe a new road or shopping mall in it's place Corporate giant so far removed, Thinking you'll never breathe the fumes... or maybe you'll simply "reproduce" Clean air and water for us to use... Will you sell it to the masses and be sure to make it scarce? Watching us fight for a breath of air? Right now you may live upstream, But one day you will finally see That everything you'll ever do Eventually all comes back to you... The winds will change and they always do, And not even your money can save you. Progress was a word thrown around by the rich Who cared nothing for life except the potential to profit Too blinded by their greed to see the error in their ways Leaving a wasteland barren, scorched, and paved To make money from the killing animals in factory farms To maximize profit with no regard to the harm They cause to our health, the animals and the earth Just churching our birth and death like clockwork Progress was a word thrown around by the rich Who cared nothing for life except the potential to profit Too blinded by their greed to see the error in their ways Leaving a wasteland barren, scorched, and paved To make money from tobacco that poison our lungs Using harmful pesticides just to save a buck Carcinogens and chemicals keep people addicted Polluting the soil and all that grows in it! Cancer is the death sentence Handed down to us by those who did not care, Whose waste seeped into our soil, water, and air. Now we must attempted to clean up the mess. Why must we pay for their ignorance and negligence? They have made money at the expense of generation to come, And now our children must pay the price For all the damage we have done.

Apathy and greed is what we don't need destroy their capitalist schemes People want to live and not to be raped of all their money We need to stand up Stand up for whats right FIGHT BACK! Against the corporations That suck us dry They feed off our needs The need to buy Don't buy from the corporations that destroys the human race. Cutting down the rain forest and hating another race. Its like a whirlpool It goes round and round Until someone pulls the plug For it go down GO DOWN! There is a lot of corruption But lets start a commotion Demonstrate and eliminate Boycott the greed and the destruction they feed on For a safer world and a place of total autonomy Do what you think And what you think is right Boycott the greed for a more live able place Boycott and demonstrate x4 To survive!

We came to this land in search of a dream But we were told we didn't belong We fled the oppression of poverty Just to end up in the belly of the beast Identity Hatred / your erased away x4 We slowly stop speaking our culture We slowly lose our native tongue Our children forget our history Left behind in the land of the east Identity Hatred/ your erased away x4 This is not a separatist or nationalist song / It's about keeping our cultural spirit alive / We must understand when people wish to study their culture and speak their own language / The door should be open to anyone who wishes to learn about other cultures / And we must fight against the prejudice of The "English speaking only" attitude Some change their names / Are you so ashamed of your identity / That you hid for so long / Assimilation / Sell your culture for the dream of the west / Hatred if your own identity / Hatred of your own people / Our Asian history books are dusted / Our culture is slowly being erased Identity Hatred/ your erased away x4 (The song Identity Hatred is relevant to a lot of Asian Americans. I have also been a victim of this too. In the early days when I first came to America I was getting sucked into Western culture. If you notice many Asians start to change their names to ones like John, Dave, Tim, Nancy, etc. instead of using their original birth given names like Chang, Won, Kim, etc. then you are witnessing identity hatred. A lot of times we change our names because people keep miss pronouncing the names or make fun of the way they sound; what happens is that we end up feeling ashamed about it. What makes me very sad is that some people change their whole last name to a Western English name. People have the right to do what ever they want with their life style but I believe that it is very sad to kill our birth given name. Also, after living in America for a long time, I sometimes forget that I am Asian. This happens to many Asian Americans. Once we are here for a long time we think that we are white. As time goes by we slowly stop speaking our language and slowly stop knowing about our culture. I think that all culture and languages are beautiful and people should not let them die out. When I was living in Ventura for 6 months I joined a local Asian American Club that met at Ventura College. There was also the Black Student Union and the Mecha Club (Mexicano Students). Now a lot of white students think that these are separatist groups. Sometimes I do not under stand why people get scared when people of color get together. The reason I joined the Asian American Club was because I wanted to speak Korean to other Korean friends so I wouldn't forget my language, as well as to study about my own history. But our club was not for Asians only. The door was open to anyone who was interested no matter what race they were. All other cultural groups should have the door open to everyone regardless of what race they are so people can learn. Like I said before all cultures are beautiful and people should not forget where they are from.)

Punk for us was a vision of growth A movement for change A dream to break free This chance to take part In the larger world And challenge its roles of oppression I was inspired by the bands in this scene Who expressed the concerns of imbalance We've used slogans and images to protest injustice Yet it takes action to back the word (x3)We plant the seeds of revolution and watch the tree grow!!! It is important that we Take these messages as inspiration But it can be a danger to paint some as leaders When they are capable of being opportunists No one is perfect in this struggle And we must learn from our mistakes Yet we have to be critical of those who would Use this for their glory We do this because of an unfailing belief! (x3)We plant the seeds of revolution and watch the tree grow!!! And now, as we have watched this movement develop, Punk has split into two One side values image and profit While we struggle to build something new It is sad to see that some view rebellion As only limited to reactionary action They disrupt our contribution to freedom and liberation Their only goal is to be a pointless sensation! (x3)We plant the seeds of revolution and watch the tree grow!!! It is an inspiration to see that anarcho-punks in Mexico are working with the Zapatistas. Publications like Profane Existence have been promoting an international punk movement. We are even moving beyond this subculture to work within a larger society and commit ourselves to multicultural organizing, connecting ourselves to other subcultures of rebellion, and promoting the concepts of mutual aid, solidarity and revolution.

As I stand before this mirror I am afraid of what I will see of who and what I will become of the person that stands before me Blink once - Blink twice I no longer see myself I see my fathers eyes His aging face stands before me Oh father be strong Your war is over Though your nights are long Soon you will see the sun And the children play again oh father be still My mother is gone She had found comfort in the arms of another one The days will turn into years But I will always be here oh father be silent Your eyes scream all the pain you have inside i hear you, yet you never cry A man should be brave and have pride never questions, never ask why? As i stand before this mirror I am no longer afraid of what i see of who and what i have become of the person that stands before me Blink once Blink twice I see myself In my fathers eyes His aging face no longer stands before me

The solidarity of the streets must extend beyond to those arrested. We must prove to these freedom fighters that they will never be ignored. (ch) This song is for political prisoners…forgotten by their own movements. To these people who have committed to challenging injustice Let us put an end to our privileged, sectarian squabbles. Regardless of the label the fight is for Liberation! (ch) This song is for political prisoners…forgotten by their own movements. Do not forget the inhumane condition, the despair of ultimate repression It takes more than writing letters, we have to fundraise and rally; we have to educate the public; we have to study the role of prisons (ch)This song is for political prisoners…forgotten by their own movements. Regardless of political difference these people cannot be abandoned. Psychological torture, humiliation, and inhuman abuse. Isolated in cells deprived of life. Their families destroyed at the hands of state. Rougher times for activist because they’re a threat. The struggle must continue strong for the liberation. Free the prisoners, ALF, ELF, revolutionaries The state repression must be dealt with Until all are free, liberation or death!

The wind with stories blew to my ears I picture darkness with dead dried trees A lost boy standing alone in the cold The pain and confusion you went through.. People try to give you advice As if they were speaking a different language For the words mean nothing to you It didn't ease the pain or cure the woes You left behind a dead dried branch Blowing away with past discomfort memories The wind will carry your echo of sorrow Your hurt and your anger flows away Taking all your sadness to the other side As your heart stops with a last beat Why now do we care Why now do we cry

Liberation for all fragile minds Strength and fortitude combined Inner peace to heal our souls Hampered by these mortal feelings - I strive for tranquility Pacific mind paired with violent expression I attempt to let go and just walk away While inside I thrash left and right My heart wrenched and crippled Liberation for all fragile minds Strength and fortitude combined Inner peace to heal our souls The thorns of swallowed roses cut my throat and the blood flows These weak emotions I refuse to embrace Won't make the same mistakes again Time to move on and just let it go I resist turning back to behold the dark shadows Aggression, oppression, obsession Refuse to engage in emotional games Refuse to dwell on this evil, negative plane Feelings of enmity propel down my throat Bridled rage painted upon my face Pure animosity burns within my heart It rained and poured blood from my eyes Feelings too complex to define with mere words an excruciating past to relive Liberation for our bodies and souls Transformation of our hearts and minds Peaceful change begin with you and me
